The Frippery Factory is having a midlife crisis.
There, I said it. Since its creation on June 22nd, 2010, the good old Factory has had a couple of sales, all miniatures. All of these I attribute to arbitrary discovery, especially via the Etsy search engine. Since October, things have been falling off especially. Most of this is because school started and free time hit the fan. While I would like to be making oodles of money at this, the break in activity is also a good thing.
Because I am a nerd, I actually enjoy fiddling with branding and stuff, and marketing plans. Just for kicks, I copied information on each Frippery Factory product on to notecards (list price, shipping costs, time to make, etc) over the weekend. So branding and product identity is what will be happening in the next week or so.
Other than that, I’ve been doing new product development, as can be witnessed in the strings of chili peppers at right. They are not available on Etsy yet, but don’t worry–they will be. Also in the news is the dawning of a new era in frippery…but that will just have to wait for next time. Until then…stay warm!
